Best Vietnam Cycling Tour Ha Giang Loop – 7 Days is an amazing way to reveal the hidden charm of Dong Van Rock Plateau. A UNESCO registered Global Geopark, 80% of the land is covered by rocks and is said to contain fossils from 400-600 million years ago. Nestled in a valley in the heart of Rock Plateau is the isolated town of Dong Van , very close to the Chinese border and surrounded by mountain forests and multicoloured orchids. Dong Van means ‘sharing culture’. It is occupied by the Hoa Chinese and the H’mong, Tay and Kinh peoples. The houses are built in Chinese style.
Itinerary
Day 1: Hanoi - Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang
You will have a hearty breakfast at your hotel and leave the bustling city of Hanoi behind. Our shuttle bus will take 2 hours to reach the cycling point. Once there, we will set off on our Vietnam bike tour, cycling along a scenic road, passing cozy villages and stunning farmlands towards Son Duong town for lunch.
After meals, we will ride our bikes along the paved road, enjoying the wonderful scenery to Tuyen Quang . Then we will detour to National Highway No. 2 to Vi Xuyen village . We will be transferred the rest of the distance to Ha Giang . We will check-in at the hotel and have dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 2: Ha Giang - Quan Ba - Yen Minh
We will leave the city early in the morning to cycle through Vietnam for the first 25km on a relatively flat road through the rice terrace landscape. Passing through minority villages, we will cycle the next 25km on winding roads towards the vast limestone mountain range with its perpendicular rock walls, climbing 800m towards the “Heaven’s Gate 1” mountain road pass . As we pass through mountain villages sometimes covered by clouds, we will receive a friendly greeting from local communities.
From the pass we will be able to take in stunning views including the famous view of the Tam Son valley with the Twin Hills and we will be able to spy on Quan Ba town , have lunch at the top and enjoy picturesque scenery. After lunch we will set off on our bike to descend and cycle towards the Gam River until we meet another pass again. We will cycle uphill for the first few kilometres before a descent of about 10km and then relatively flat terrain for the next 10km. It is challenging terrain up and down at an altitude of 1,025m before we make a final descent for the last 15km towards Yen Minh . We will have the chance to see the traditional houses of the local hill tribes. The communities in this area are Chinese.

Day 3: Yen Minh - Ma Le - Dong Van
This day will be fantastic and incredible for us, as we will cycle in the heart of the world-class Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark .
We will have a hearty breakfast at the hotel and take a quick visit to the colorful hill tribe market near the hotel and then start cycling along the Road of Happiness to Dong Van.
You will be rewarded by the pristine nature and magnificent scenery of the Karsk Plateau as you cycle to the top. We will stop to visit and explore the Hmong King’s Palace (Vuong Chi Sinh Palace) . Then we will continue cycling to Dong Van. We will have lunch en route. Afterwards, we will continue riding on the route through northern Vietnam back to Dong Van town. Upon arrival, we will check in and relax after a day of cycling through Vietnam. We will have dinner and overnight at Hoa Cuong Dong Van Hotel .

Day 4: Dong Van - Lung Cu - Meo Vac
After hearty breakfast at the hotel, our support vehicle will drive to Lung Cu Tower for one hour. Upon arrival at Lung Cu, we will take an electric car to visit and explore the flagpole. You will enjoy picturesque panorama and sublime mountain ranges. After visiting Lung Cu, we will descend to the cycling point where our bikes are available for further Vietnam cycling adventures.
We will start by challenging some steep passes along a winding route and hairpin bends towards Ma Le Valley and then to Dong Van village.
Upon arrival in Dong Van town, we will regroup to recharge our batteries. We continue the Vietnam cycling trip towards Ma Pi Leng Pass. We will enjoy 2km on flat road before conquering the incredible Ma Phi Leng Pass , link between Dong Van and Meo Vac towns. We will see a fabulous and surprising landscape when we cycle on the mountainside to admire the extraordinary sightseeing, reflecting the crystal clear water of the Nho Que River.
We will challenge 7km of climbing on a winding road with a sharp turn towards the top. We will cycle down 16km along the hillside and along a winding route to the village of Meo Vac . Upon arrival, we will check in and relax after an intense day on the road through northern Vietnam.

Day 5: Meo Vac - Hau Due - Du Gia
After having recharged our batteries the night before, we will leave the hotel and start our day in Vietnam by bike on a paved road. We will cycle on a panoramic route with sublime rocky mountain landscapes until the Mau Due section .
We will be rewarded by the exceptional views and stunning scenery of Dong Van Geopark , as we cycle through the core of Dong Van district.
We will regroup to refresh ourselves before challenging the incredible Mau Due – Lung Ho summit pass, where our picnic lunch will be available. After a healthy meal, we will hop on our bikes to descend to Du Gia village.

Day 6: Du Gia - Bac Me - Ha Giang
We will enjoy a delicious pancake and hot coffee for breakfast at the homestay. We will watch the sunrise over the mysterious valley and the dreamy landscapes of the village.
Once we have said goodbye to our host, we will start our exciting day through Vietnam by bike from the village, preparing to ascend to the summit for 10km and then descend to the communities of Minh Son and Minh Ngoc for picnic lunch.
After filling up our energy, we will start our cycling trip to Ha Giang city . Upon arrival at the hotel, we will check in. We will have time to relax, explore the city and taste the local beer. We will have dinner and rest in Ha Giang.

Day 7: Ha Giang - Hanoi
We will have breakfast at the hotel and be free until departure time. We will meet our support team again and be transferred to Hanoi city via Thai Nguyen . We will stop on the way for lunch.
