Day 2: YEN MINH - LUNG CU - DONG VAN (BREAKFAST, LUNCH, DINNER)

Morning:

– 7:00 AM: After finishing breakfast, the group continues its journey to explore the Dong Van Karst Plateau. Along the way, you will have the opportunity to admire the majestic roads in this area. Additionally, there are interesting and famous stops such as Cao Street, Sung La, and the cultural village of Lung Cam, where scenes from the famous film “The Story of Pao” were shot. In winter and spring, fields of yellow mustard flowers or cherry blossoms flourish, making it ideal for romantic and culturally rich photography.

– 9:00 AM: The group visits the “King Cat Palace”: Located in Sa Phin Valley (Sa Phin commune, Dong Van district), 135km from Ha Giang town and 20km from Dong Van town. Sitting in the car, crossing winding mountain roads, I am captivated by the breathtaking beauty of the vast rocky plateau with terraced fields, rocky formations resembling cat ears, and the forest blooming proudly.

– 10:00 AM: The group embarks on a tour of Lung Cu Flagpole – the northernmost point of the country. Lung Cu Flagpole marks the northernmost point at the top of Lung Cu, symbolizing the sacred sovereignty of the nation for every Vietnamese citizen. The group conquers the summit of Rong Mountain, where the sacred national flagpole marks the northernmost point of Vietnam. Standing under the flag fluttering in the wind, the cool breeze touches, and a sense of pride wells up. Somewhere at the foot of the mountain lies the village of the Lolo people, who have been attached to the land for generations, safeguarding the country’s borders.

The winding roads, curves, and bends provide a fascinating experience as you overlook the Nho Que River like a silk ribbon winding along the pass.

FAQs

Why should I buy individual health insurance?

This is the most important type of insurance that Meditours recommends all racers coming to Vietnam should purchase. It will provide protection in case of accidents or injuries. As you cannot obtain local permits with a tourist visa, even if you have a business visa, you still need a sponsor company and wait for 7-10 days. This means it is nearly impossible to obtain a local permit. Therefore, you cannot purchase personal health insurance from Vietnamese companies. Fortunately, you can purchase personal health insurance from companies like Allianz, CHI, World Nomads, etc. They only require your international or national driver’s license. In this case, you will be fully insured if anything happens.

Where do we stay overnight on our trip?

When joining our tour, you have the option of two types of accommodation: hotels or homestays. Your choice between a hotel or a homestay depends on your preferences. Hotel: Our adventures often take us to remote locations, so the hotels available are typically small in size. Nevertheless, they are equipped with standard amenities to meet your needs, including comfortable beds, hot water, and clean toilets. Additionally, when touring major cities, we provide accommodation in 3 or 4-star hotels. Homestay: Opting for a homestay allows you to fully immerse yourself in the authentic culture of the region. The families we select for homestay accommodations hold special permits from the local government, ensuring their certification. These families offer welcoming hospitality in their traditional stilt houses, where you can enjoy local cuisine and experience the warmth of the community. Amenities at homestays typically include private mats, blankets, mosquito nets, fans, and clean toilets. Furthermore, choosing a homestay provides an opportunity to witness stunning scenery and embrace the tranquil atmosphere of the area.

Can I do the loop in 1 or 2 days?

You can completely complete the Ha Giang loop route in just 1-2 days under the guidance and companionship of local people and tour guides. However, to have enough time to rest, take photos, hike and other activities besides motorbikes, you should spend at least 3 to 4 days. Meditours Ha Giang offers you Ha Giang Loop 2-day tour, 3-day tour, 4-day tour, 5-day tour, helping you explore the majestic beauty of Ha Giang and have interesting experiences.

What is the food/drink like during the trip?

All meals during the tour are inclusive of the tour price, with the option to accommodate vegetarian preferences. However, beverages are not included. It’s worth noting that the cuisine served during our tours stands out as one of the primary reasons our clients return for more experiences. We predominantly offer authentic Vietnamese dishes, which are renowned for being flavorful, diverse, and nutritious. We will send you a checklist of essential items for the trip based on the destination and duration of the visit. Additionally, for all motorcycle, car, trekking trips, we will provide you with helmets, gloves, reflective vests, raincoats, etc. However, we are sure that your own belongings will fit you the best, so you can bring along all the necessary items. Does the company accept children on the trip?

However, for some adventurous motorbike tours or demanding trekking excursions that require physical fitness, we limit the participation of children to ensure their safety and the progress of the entire group. You can consider some sightseeing tours by car or pickup truck.
