Itinerary
DAY 1: HA GIANG – QUAN BA - YEN MINH - DONG VAN
The stretch of the road first feasts your eyes on the stunning landscapes of the Bac Sum slope, which is a long pass with the starting point at Minh Tan. This slope is a charming sketch through the Ha Giang loop. With winding slopes and graceful curves, the ride through the Bac Sum slope certainly brings off-road enthusiasts maximum satisfaction.
After leaving Bac Sum slope behind, you go on zigzag paths that run across dramatic cat-ear mountains to ride to Quan Ba Heaven Gate, where you can admire the picturesque couple mountain of Co Tien and Tam Son town through the mist.
Going through the challenging off-road tracks, you have lunch and rest in Yen Minh before paying a visit to numerous local spots such as the White H’mong village and the King’s Palace. Suppose the village of H’mong people highlights the rustic simplicity combined with the cultural diversity. In that case, King’s Palace makes a deep impression on visitors due to its imposing appearance, unique architecture, and interesting story of the King of the H’mong ethnic group.
Continue your ride and reach the next awesome destination named Lung Cu flag pole, which is often called the North Pole of the country. If you want more knowledge of Vietnam’s long history, this spot is a perfect choice. On the way to the flagpole, you have to conquer 389 stone steps before marveling at the breathtaking scenery of the Dong Van plateau, which can compare to a masterpiece of nature.
We arrive at Dong Van town in the late afternoon. Here you can immerse yourself in the majestic beauty of the highland. The images of old houses built with distinctive architecture draw an attractive picture of this land.
After checking into the hotel and having dinner, we visit Dong Van Old Quarter, where you get a chance to explore the culture of the ancient market that has existed for hundreds of years.

DAY 2: DONG VAN – MEO VAC – YEN MINH – HA GIANG
After having breakfast, you climb on the motorbike and start the journey to conquer Ma Pi Leng Pass, which is one of the greatest passes in the Northern highlands and the most challenging pass on the Ha Giang loop tour. Crossing this pass is undeniably hazardous, requiring great riding skill and a cool two-wheeler with an excellent off-road capacity.
Go on the journey to Meo Vac, a small valley surrounded by rocks. Looking down from above, you feel as if it fits in the palm of your hand. You must overcome winding slopes stretching up to 5km from the top of the pass to reach the town.
On returning to Ha Giang, you also enjoy your lunch in Yen Minh. After that, you visit Lung Tam village, which is home to H’mong ethnic groups and has long been famous for fabric and brocade weaving. This craft not only plays a role as a way to earn a living for the locals but also contributes to maintaining the traditional cultures of Northern highland regions.
Keep your ride through many other off-the-beaten-track destinations to return to Ha Giang, where you will say goodbye to our memorable off-road trip.
